SUMMARY:2026 Mississippi QSO Party
DESCRIPTION:The Mississippi QSO Party (MSQP) is held the first weekend of April each year. The 12 hour event encourages ALL Mississippi hams to get on the air handing out Mississippi QSOs to hams around the world. This is also an excellent event for county hunters since many participants will operate mobile or portable from rare counties around the state. High scoring participants in each category will receive a beautiful solid wooden plaque recognizing their accomplishment. \n2026 MSQP Dates April 4 2026 9am-9pm Central Time (1400 April 4 – 0200 April 5 UTC)

DESCRIPTION:Mississippi hams will be operating in week-long Special Event Station (SES) using callsign W0W (W-ZERO-W) in celebration of the annual Southern Miss Pow-Wow event. From 0000 UTC Nov 17 through 2359 UTC Nov 17 Mississippi hams will operate using callsign W0W from their home stations.  Coordinators are: Curt\, N5CW and Randy\, W5UE. SUMMARY:Air Force MARS (AFMARS) 75th Anniversary Event
DESCRIPTION:AFMARS is celebrating its 75th anniversary by reaching out to the\nAmateur Radio community for a special event.  The event will kick-off on\nNovember 5 at 0000 Zulu and end on November 11 at 2359 Zulu.\nRepresentative stations located in each of the ten geographical AFMARS\nCommunications Wings will be on-the-air calling CQ and identifying\nthemselves as special event station callsigns.  In addition\, K4AF\, the\nMARS station located at the Pentagon\, will be on  the air as a part of\nthis event! \nThis event will take place on all HF bands (except 60m) using common\nmodes\, including SSB\, CW\, and digital.  The technician part of the 10m\nband WILL be active for this event.  Participants should monitor\nfrequencies and respond to QSO calls.  Stations that receive an\nacknowledgment and authentication code will be registered in the\nofficial log. \nUpon completion of the event\, those stations that have been officially\nlogged in all ten Communication Wings will receive a QSL document.\nStations that make contact with the Pentagon MARS station will receive a\nsecond QSL document.
