SUMMARY:CMARA 3rd Saturday Event
DESCRIPTION:Ham operators and non-operators\, please come join CMSARA (Central\nMississippi Amateur Radio Association) at the Pearl Park and Recreation\nfacility in Pearl\, MS. The entrance to the park is located at HWY 80 and\nCenter City Drive\, on the east side of Pearl. Follow Center City Drive\nin the South direction to the Pirate Park Walking Trail at the corner of\nCenter City Drive and Legion Lake Road. Set up area will be at the\nparking lot for the walking trails. \nThis is a wide open area with plenty of parking and sunshine\, but\nlimited access to trees. Good opportunity to practice set up without\nbenefit of tall trees. \nBring your portable ham radio setup including batteries\, radios\, tuners\,\nantennas\, etc. that you can use to set up your portable operations\nstation or just show up and we will get you on the air via HF/VHF/UHF.\nYou can bring a chair to sit on if desired. I did not see any bathroom\nfacilities but there may be some. Be aware there may be other\nactivities going on in the park so respect their space. Invite them over\nto play ham radio with us. \nThe purpose of this outing is to have fun\, fellowship with others and\nmake contacts. Looking forward to seeing y’all there on February 21\,\n2026 at approximately 9 AM. I will be there early\, hopefully. \nEugene\nN5CMA

SUMMARY:2025 Repeater Roundup
DESCRIPTION:The Magnolia ARC will host the 2025 Repeater Roundup on November 1\, 2025\, from 7AM to 7PM. That’s 12 hours to work as many repeaters as possible\, log lots of QSOs\, and snag some helpful multipliers. All call signs are welcome to participate; club membership is NOT required to take part. \nWe’d like to see as much of North Mississippi as possible take part\, which means adding more repeaters. It needs to be a challenge\, but still something a new ham can enter and not only have fun but also rack up some serious points. This is a contest for all Hams\, regardless of experience or gear. A handheld Baofeng can do just as well as an Icom 820H\, if the Ham is willing to put in the miles and the effort. \nLast year\, some folks wanted to see more repeaters added to the list\, so here is your chance to shape the future. If you’d like to suggest a 2 meter or 440 repeater for the Roundup\, email your suggestions to ag5nd@arrl.net. Last year’s repeater list is available from ag5nd at the same email address. \nThree files have been uploaded to the FILES section of the Magnolia ARC Facebook page\, and these are the files you will need to download and print. They are Instructions\, Log Sheet\, and Repeater List. The link to the files page can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/497073537139477/files/files

SUMMARY:Mississippi Parks On The Air
DESCRIPTION:As of this writing\, there at least 133 reference entities in the POTA database. Not all of them are parks. Only those with “Park” in the name will be used for MSPOTA. \nThere are twenty-one (21) State Parks in Mississippi\, and we need to have most\, if not all\, of those 21 state parks activated by as many amateur radio operators as possible on the day of the event. This will entail the efforts and cooperation of multiple Mississippi clubs. \nExcept where noted in this document\, POTA rules will apply. See https://pota.app/ for more details. All MSPOTA activators will operate as if they were activating a State Park for POTA. Co-activating is allowed. When activators mail their adi file to the certificate coordinator\, please include the co-activators call signs\, if applicable. \nAs in POTA the guidelines\, all rules and regulations of the MS State Parks\, will be followed. Fees need to be paid where they are required. If you use Pavilions then those need to be reserved and paid for. \nKudos go to the Jackson County Amateur Radio club\, and the Area 51 Radio group for their fine cooperation\, in making this happen for our State. Special thanks to all the Activators for the State Parks from whatever club or organization they come from\, and of course\, without all the hunters\, this would not be an event!
