CMARA 3rd Saturday Event
If you are a Ham operator or just interested in Ham Radio operations,
please come join me at Deans Stand on the Natchez Trace Parkway,
approximately 5 miles south of Raymond, MS, milepost 73.5. Deans Stand
is on the east side of the Natchez Trace Parkway, well marked with a
large sign. Deans Stand site consists of a large parking lot, picnic
table and plenty of large trees to accommodate several wire antennas. It
also has a cemetery with grave markers dating back to early 1900’s.
Bring your portable Ham Radio setup including batteries, radios, tuners,
antennas, etc. that you can use to set up your portable operations
station or just show up, and we will get you on the air via HF/VHF/UHF.
Also bring a chair as there are none except on the single picnic table.
There are no bathroom facilities at the site. Any Ham operators that do
Parks On The Air (POTA), be sure to bring your login documentation as
this is a federal park and you should be able to get credit for POTA
operations.
The purpose of this outing is to have fun, fellowship with others, and
make contacts. Looking forward to seeing y’all at Deans Stand on the
Natchez Trace Parkway on August 15, 2026 at around 9am. I will probably
be there early. In the event of bad weather, I will reschedule to
another weekend.
Thanks,
Eugene Wallace
